One of the greatest and most awarded voices in Brazilian music, Maria Rita began singing professionally at the age of 24. The daughter of singer Elis Regina and musician César Camargo Mariano, she made a stunning entry into the music market, selling one million copies of her debut album, “Maria Rita” (2003). This album earned her three Latin Grammy Awards in the categories of Best MPB Album, Best Portuguese Language Song (“A festa”), and Best New Artist - the only artist from Brazil to win a trophy in this category to date, among others.
